Architectural Reconstruction
Burton Latimer Heritage Society commissioned us to create a "Virtual High Street" showing the town's High Street as it was around 1918. This involved constructing, and re-constructing, several hundred dwellings and farm buildings, with people, as well as the landscape and environment.
After 18 months of work, the DVD "Burton Latimer - A Sense of Place" was launched on April 20th 2007. The DVD consisted of several sections covering different aspects of the town's history, and included a 20-minute virtual reality walk up and down the High Street of the town, showing it as it was in 1918. Since the launch, almost 1,000 DVDs have been sold all over the world.
This has been a huge project for us, and required the creation of more than 160 individual buildings, street furniture, plants and people.
The final animations reached more than 30,000 frames, created on our render farm at our offices in Newport Pagnell.
In addition to the animations, we created the Master DVD for duplication. Truly a multi-talented multimedia team!
