Military Reconstructions

When there's no contemporary images showing the use of a weapon, or you need a detailed reconstruction of something that no longer exists (all battles fall into that category don't they?) then virtual reconstruction solves the problem.

One project which we are undertaking at the moment is a detailed reconstruction of the chateau of Hougoumont from the Waterloo battlefield. From a series of close-up photographs take of the buildings, a complete reconstruction including the formal gardens and woods is to be made. In addition, there will be extras to the model - showing firing steps and loopholes made by the soldiers on the evening before the battle.

We're even working on the soldiers that manned the chateau, their weapons and accoutrements, so keep watching for more information.

As a way of demonstrating the use and effects of weapons on the battlefield, virtual reconstructions are an enormous help.
